    Provided complete administrative support to three independent insurance agents including actively assisting in opening and organizing new office. This included:
  • Processing all new health insurance benefit packages ensuring that all documents were properly completed and signed; scheduling appointments.
  • Providing customer service support to clients where required to facilitate claims processing and research answers to general policy questions.

  • In various capacities:
  • Organized and maintained filing systems; ordered and maintained office supplies and equipment; opened and closed office as required.
  • Created and/or maintained MS Access databases including tables, forms and reports.
  • Assisted in updating training materials for local fire protection district in Sacramento County, California.

Desktop Publishing

    Participated in special projects for a professional foster care agency in a temporary capacity including:
  • Compiled and published a Policy and Procedures Manual. Designed and created manual templates; created all accompanying paper and electronic forms; typed and formatted body of manual from existing documentation; published 60 copies and compiled into binders for distribution. Received recognition for quality of completed material and completing project ahead of schedule.
  • Assisted in editing and revising Five-Year Strategic Plan including setting up special tables and creating various organizational charts to be imbedded in the final plan.

  • For a non-profit agency in Alameda County, California:
  • Redesigned and published quarterly newsletter disseminated nation-wide. Created flyers and posters for special events or community issues.
  • Created programs and posters for an agency-sponsored annual Cinco de Mayo community celebration. Created posters and theater playbills for an annual Gay and Lesbian Film Festival that was also agency-sponsored.
  • Compiled and processed data from two different community studies, prepared charts and graphs from compiled data and published reports of all findings.
  • Prepared numerous PowerPoint presentations presented at community meetings, conferences and other functions. Assisted in compiling, preparing and filing grant applications for additional funding for various health-related community projects.

Bookeeping/Accounting

  • Set up, maintained and reconciled office bank account; organized and maintained office budget including paying all bills for insurance agents.
  • Maintained accounts receivable for a pest control agency and a local window shade manufacturer. Set up new accounts, posted transactions such as payments, credits, discounts, and other activity. Aggressively pursued past due accounts through collection calls and correspondence. Actively assisted in reducing the manufacturer's days in receivable from an average of 78 to an average of 61 within six months.
  • Processed all incoming payments including over-the-counter payments of cash, checks, and credit cards; prepared daily bank deposits and took to the bank. ยท Updated Daily/Weekly Operations Reports for the pest control agency and printed and maintained daily, weekly, and monthly computer reports for both companies. Processed Accounts Payable vouchers for the pest control agency and forwarded to Accounting for payment.
  • Priced and invoiced incoming orders for the manufacturer, reviewing for accuracy and ensuring customers received all applicable discounts; processed credit rating requests.

Statistical

As Statistics Coordinator in the Marketing Department of a major Fitness company, primary responsibilities included:
  • Compiling and collating statistical data directly relating to Cost per Inquiry and Return on Investment; generating weekly, monthly and annual reports as needed, comparing leads generated to dollars spent for various media.
  • Acting as liaison between the fitness company and MCI Worldcom, assisted actively in setting up and maintaining consumer 800 call routing platform.

Receptionist/Customer Service Support

  • In various capacities, handled busy multi-line telephones; typed bids, invoices and billing forms; processed termite reports and certificates of completion; greeted and served the public.
  • Customer support has included researching, documenting and correcting payment errors, service and product problems, and claims processing.
